Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer
Steve was appointed Chief Compliance Officer in September 2012 after having served as the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer since December 2011. Steve oversees and leads Omnicare’s corporate compliance function, reporting directly to Omnicare’s Board of Directors. In this role, Steve has improved Omnicare’s compliance infrastructure, aligning it tightly with both of the company's major lines of business. Through the implementation of policies and disciplined compliance auditing, Steve has helped enable Omnicare to maintain an appropriate risk profile in the complex regulatory environment in which it operates.
Previously, he served in senior compliance roles at WellCare, Inc. and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Joining WellCare in 2010, he helped reshape the Company’s compliance program and improve its credibility with federal and state regulators. In addition, he previously was a partner in the Washington, DC office of Epstein Becker & Green PC, where he represented health plans and providers in litigation, including federal False Claims Act cases, and in compliance-related matters. Steve has previously served as an officer and board member of the National Healthcare Antifraud Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, and a law degree from the University of Michigan.
